    baby with colic

I believe our 3 week old girl has colic. We've been using Infacol for a week now with no change.

Has anyone had experience with the enzyme Colief or the homeopathic gripe water Colic Calm?

    Thanks in advance!

we used colief(i think it was called) made a HUGE difference to our girl! but it is VERY expensive.

colief is more for babies that are a little lactose intolerant, so infacol doesn't have any or much effect.

i would definitely ask your doctor about colief.

    good luck

What sort of symptoms is your baby having that makes you think she has colic? I only ask because when my little one was just getting used to passing wind, using her bowels and would yell because the sensation was so strange my in-laws and a number of others would tell me it was colic and I know from a medical view point that it was not.

are you sure it's colic and not a food allergy?

Gripe water is great it helped us a lot.
3 week old i dont think food allergy
colic is generally a certain time of the day ( generally evenings) when the babies are uncomfortable and non stop crying. u need to carry them rock them or walk with them as motion makes them better

Yes she is most uncomfortable in the evenings.

She straightens out her legs, clenches her fists and her face goes red and pinched. She will let out a yowl, but a few seconds later is fine and peaceful. This will go on for some time, maybe 6-midnight? It is not non stop crying, but she is clearly in pain when she cries. We must hold her or have her in her carrier this whole time.

How long until the Infacol begins to work?

could also be reflux. people often jump to the conclusion that it's colic when in fact it's reflux. are you nursing? reflux babies often feed with clenched fists, have tight stomachs and are just prefer to be on their tummies than their backs.
