I appreciate all your comments and advice. I just bought the AR pillow online, but he gets bored and fussy after a few minutes. My goal is to get him to use it for at least 30 minutes.

We've been going to Integrated Medicine Institute. Chung Sze Chan is his Osteopath. We've seen her twice now and have seen progress.

My son was on Zantac (liquid) from 2 months onwards and it did nothing. The GI specialist switched him to Prevacid (Lansoprazole) in liquid form which turned out no to be stable enough for him. At 4 months we started him on the tablet and it worked way better. He was weaned at 9-10 months.

We also tried to see hypoallergenic formula without result. He was ff by the way, from day 1.

What I am trying to say, is that some medications work short term, but not in the long run. We've tried various before we found the right one. It didn't decrease the spitting up much but at least he wasn't in pain anymore nor was he spitting blood.

other things that we did for our son in the beginning stages:
    - used a pillow wedge
    - fed him smaller amts more frequently
    - used hypoallergenic formula (nutramigen - not sold in HK) which we still use.
    - definitely held him upright for a good 15 minutes after feeds to make sure he was well burped and that the milk was going down.

on a side note - some confuse reflux with an allergy and vice versa....

One thing to remember, the medications won't stop the vomiting, they only control the stomach acid so that your baby isn't in pain.

For my first son I used a thickener for his formula, which kept the food in his stomach.
I find with BF my second, the vomiting is bearable as long as the feeds are small.

My 10 week old son also has reflux which is quite severe. My first son had it as well and was on Zantac for many months. The doctor gave me those little pink tablets as well to mix with his milk, but I found it made no difference. I have breastfed my ten week old till 8 weeks, but had to change him to antirefulx formula, which made a big difference in his feeding. He was no longer pulling off or screaming during the feed. The antireflux formula though is cows milk based and my doctor seems to think my son has milk allergy, so he is on soy based formula. But now I have the same problem of him screaming during a feed and pulling off the bottle as the formula is not thick enough. I understand excatly what everyone is going through. My son screams for about 5 hours a day in pain, and barely sleeps during the day. Zantac, my doctor told me, does not stop the vomiting but it does ease the pain, so even if you think it isn't working, it is.

My son had a similar issue as my husband is lactose intolerant so we couldn't 100% tell if our son had reflux AND was lactose intolerant or just had reflux. As a result, we gave zantac since about a month old and put him on hypoallergenic formula - Nutramigen (Enfamil maker and is not sold in HK). When we moved to HK, we had to switch since we could not get it here. Our pediatrician recommended Cow & Gate's Pepti Junior was has been worked great for him. So he had that from around 8 months. We just weaned my son off zantac. He's now 11 months old and so far so good!
