that's too bad about phuket- however the resort we LOVE is Twin Palms- there's a smaller seperated "kiddie" shallow pool there and the staff is amazing!!

for Sanya- a lot of the major hotels are children friendly, hilton, mariott, etc...

good luck with planning your vacay! :)

I know this is an old thread, but rather than starting a new one, can anyone give advice on taking your helper on holiday with you? We are planning a week in Phuket and want to take our helper - I am new to HK and wondered how we go about this. Are there any travel agencies that do a special deal for helpers? Any advice greatly appreciated!

we went to phuket with our helper this christmas. it's really easy - no visas are needed for her if she's a philippino passport holder. there are no deals - they are like everyone else in terms of tickets etc...what exactly were you wondering about?

we rented a villa in phuket so our helper slept with our son dowstairs while we were upstairs. she did night duty, so she basically had the mornings off and was back on from lunchtime and on.

Great thank you for the info. Someone told me some airlines do special 'helper' rates, so was wondering if this was true. We are looking at hotels and I just wondered if most helpers share a room with the child - I guess they do? Also, any recommendations on villas/hotels that have decent facilities for babies - playrooms, shallow pool etc.... Thanks

i heard JW Marriott had an awful beach though I've never personally been...in Phuket, the further you go from the airport, usually means the better beach.

Most resorts of very child-friendly especially the Starwood ones. I don't think Banyan Tree had a kids club, but a great spa.

I also heard the JW Marriott does not have a great beach which puts me off. The Sheraton Laguna seems to be the popular choice.... Think we will gice this a try.
    Thanks everyone for the advice.
