    Hi Kashismum,
My son will be 2 years 7 months, in sep next year, does that mean he wont be able to get into Kindergarten? Then I would need to enroll him into nursery first then enter kindergartent he following year.

    mrs chan,
as mentioned by kashismum, children MUST be 2 yrs 8 mths before they start k1. And MUST be 2 yrs before they start nursery. I take my daughter for example, she's turning 2 on 20 sept hence she's starting nursery this Oct.

Firstly, I think its are good idea to ask your selected/ prefer kindergartens/ nurseries and confirm their practice. Then keep your fingers cross and hope that your son perform well during the interview(s) so they could save him a place.

No need to enrol your son in nursery if you don't want to - it is not a pre-requisite for entry into K1.
Your son could start K1 in Oct 2009 when he turns 2yrs 8 months. You can apply now.

ya, kashismum is right. no need to enrol your child to nursery if you don't want to. my daughter is going cause my husband and I both work and she stay at home all day with our helper and I prefer to get to play with other children and learn to share. Nowadays, everything she sees, she say it's hers.

Thanks for your advice fairy-godmother and kashismum.
Since my son is surrounded by lots of cantonese during the day while both my husband and I work. We would like our son to go to nusery. At the moment he responds well to everything we ask him to do, and understands the everything we say to him in english. Just he does not say many english words himself.
