When was your baby able to support his/her head?
Hi Ladies,
A quick question, where did your LO start to be able to hold his/her head up independently, or when did you stop needing to support the neck?
Thanks

I think my son is unique in the fact that he could hold his head up from birth. Came out of the womb looking around. At my 4-month ultrasound when I was pregnant with him the only comment the doctor made was, "Wow, your baby has really strong shoulders and his upper body is very muscular" so I'm guessing that that had something to do with it. Still, until my son was probably 2 months old, we were extra careful to give additional support to his neck while holding him--after that he pretty much could do it on his own. I don't think most babies are like this, though.

Yuukalim0404,
if I remember correctly it was around 3 months. It was amazing because just one day my daughter suddenly seemed to perk up and could hold her head up. It was wobbly at first but just got stronger everyday. So you will know instinctively when you don't need to support her head so much! I remember it was an exciting turning point!
