Another struggle is HAIRCUT for my 2 yrs old boy, anyone knows how to let him have a haircut, just seeing the saloon he whines and cries on the floor. Tried going to another one but same thing, not even stepping inside. I just cut his hair so it's not nice. I bought a razor but hearing it freaks him out too. Any tips or books on this? Thanks.

i had the same problem with my son when he was younger.
it actually took 3 of us to cut his hair, two to hold him down and one to cut.

we decided to do it ourselves. my hubby shaves his own head with clippers, so we had those already. one day, we had our little boy help us cut daddy's hair. we made a big deal about daddy NOT crying. then we gave daddy 10 M&M's for being such a good boy. immediately after, i asked my son if we could cut his hair, too? i told him that he'd get 10 M&M's like daddy if he didn't cry. he let us do it. he still whimpered a bit, but not like before. eventually, we discovered that what he didn't like was (1) the sound of the clippers and (2) the feeling of the hair falling on his shoulders. he still doesn't like the itchy feeling, so i wrap him up in a towel after he's undressed. we cut it in the bathroom, so immediately when we've finished, he jumps in the bath. i find that i still have to do it quickly or he starts to fuss a little.

Hi RMP, i have sent you a PM today.

Carang, that's a good tip on cut daddy's hair. We went to a saloon to let him see daddy has a haircut but no luck.
Yes, i now cut his hair with scissors in the bathtub. But i want to use the clippers so it's nicer.
