Just to add to all the suggestion, another good place that is near to North Point will be Grand Promenande @ Sai Wan Ho. There is a nice & beautiful clubhouse with quite a nos of expat families living there as well. With your budget, you can prob get a 3bedrooms apt, but not with a maid room.

Thanks so much guys for the fantastic responses. We are so excited! I just have 1 more question (actually I probably have loads more but just thought of this!!!) Does anyone know what you would pay per month for a parking space at Residence Oasis? Would I be right in pressuming that a car space is not automatically included in the rental price?

    thanks again,
    Jac

you are correct in your assumption... but i have no idea what the going rate is in that area. each block/area has different going rates.

    Chubbysan,

I have just got the map out and am now seriously considering your suggestion of Grand Promenade. Just wanted to ask you a few questions if you dont mind. Are there many parks or open spaces in the area? Would the area be pram/stroller friendly? Are there good restaurants/cafes nearby? Are there any playgroups in the area.

I am now re-thinking the car and would love to hear from any mums that live in that area with regards to public transport with two toddlers. Would a Phil & Teds pram work on the MTR?

    Thanks again

generally speaking, if you live near an MTR station a car is not NECESSARY, rather it is kind of nice to have (especially with 2 kids).

parking in hk is crazy expensive as is petrol. drivers here are also a little on the insane side.

i lived here for 12 years before i started driving. i'm very glad as it allowed me to get to know hk very well. i took enough taxis that i became accustomed to which lane i needed to be in to get to "x". i cannot image moving here and then trying to drive immediately.
