Floor Mats - which ones and where to buy?
I am thinking of setting up a playroom area for my toddler and I would like to buy some large cushioned mats for her.
I have seen the smaller 12 inch square mats, but I think they are harder to clean and smell very "plasticy".
Are there larger mats which are cushioned and safe for baby? And where can I buy them at a reasonable price? :D
Thanks. :)

24 inch square mats from toys r us are easy to clean. plain colours with no pull out bits (e.g. alphabet or shapes which gives more work for cleaning and tidying...). they smell plasticky for a short time only.

We bought our ones from Eugene in Central, must be the 24 inch ones... Don't remember any plasticky smell...? I think we bought them for about $80 for a pack of 4 - not 100% sure. But have since seen some in the market for $45! Not same colours but material "looked" the same. ...In market out here in Tung Chung though!

Stick with getting them at Toys R Us or Eugene's like people have said above. I find you usually get what you pay for and I am sure you what durable mats.

I second the mats from Toysrus they don't smell at all and are easy to clean. Bought them for 150$ (Not exact) for a pack of 4.

i can attest that the ones you buy in the market are AWFUL! i bought hundreds of dollars of them for my playgroup as i needed to cover about 700'. they all buckled and warped within weeks of putting them down. i had to tear them all up and throw them all out!
