thanks everyone! all comments useful and i'll keep trying, like dink says maybe it's just the shape of this one that he doesn't like?

well he's not even two months yet so if after some more time he still doesn't like the pacifier i'll just let him do whatever he wants (suck fingers, etc) and go with the flow!

Anyways, just want to update the pple who were very helpful in giving me advice on how to latch on the baby directly.. I am finally successful in doing so! I guess it helps now that my milk flow is stronger than before and she doesnt need to spend so much effort in sucking. But i do worry that she's not getting enough milk sometimes since she always falls asleep on my breast so i still express and try to give her a 'full' meal once or twice a day.

So happy that it's finally working out though.. thanks all!

if your baby is gaining weight, she's getting enough milk.
many babies fall asleep at the breast. it's hard work, sucking like that. both of mine always fell asleep.

I agree - I think it`s fine for the baby to fall asleep. To get that hindmilk they have to suck suck suck. It really tires them out. There are too many books out there that insist on keeping your baby awake during the feed, after the feed in order to get a schedule going, in order to have a happy baby, hehe.
My son (aka Mr. Giggles) fell asleep at the breast, or at least right after until about 2 months old. Then he started waking up for longer. Sometimes he just needed a recovery period of about 5-15 min and then he was full of beans.
