Personal Trainer for pregnant me.
hi all, first of all, I need to thank everyone who has posted here before. Being 1st time pregnant, I've found so much invaluable info : ob recommendations, midwives info, delivery costs etcc...!
I'm now hoping someone can help me in my search for a personal trainer who specifically understands the needs of pregnant women. I've alway been active and tried going to they gym on my own but found that my heart rate went up so quickly and i got so hot that i had to stop.
I've done a search on geoxpat and found recommendations for Rich Clow, Liam Harkness. I'll probably give them a call soon but I would prefer a Female Personal trainer who is experienced with training pregnant women and been through it herself. I know its a tall ask!
I'm very active and would like to remain so but want to make sure I do the right things.
also this is not a request for pre-natal yoga classes.
Appreciate all your help and advice.

Congratulations!!!
Rich is great, but I would feel comfortable with a female trainer too. Have a friend who's a trainer, but am not sure if she's had any pregnant clients. Her name is Kylie, will PM you her email.
I used to see a pregnant trainer at Pure Fitness, she had blond hair. Hopefully someone will know her name.

thanks rani, will check my inbox!
Yes my fear is that male trainers might not understand diastasis, my not stop need to pee (i'm going every hour almost and I'm only 7 wks in!) and the fact that my boobs hurt when i run!
if anyone else has any ideas, pls let me know ..... love the emoticon

The blond trainer at Pure that Rani mentions above could be Zosha, also Dora Hardaway (also at Pure) is great and helped me through my first pregnancy. Lots of strength and endurance work with a ton of stretching to keep limber - really helpful.
I didn't have enough time with my second pregnancy but should have!

Thanks leah,
I will go to Pure to check it out. I'm also hoping this will get me out of the depression I'm in. Not sure how morning sickness and exercise mix but will try anything.

Personal Trainer for pregnant me.
I saw this old forum but thought i'd update it with my personal experience. So for any pregnant mom-to-bes looking to still work out during their pregnancy....I go to Pure fitness and have a personal trainer named Bonnie twice a week. I also attend Dora's stability ball class on Monday and Wednesdays. She's excellent and although the class isn't prenatal we have tons of expecting mothers at different stages of their pregnancies as it's a wonderful class to keep you in shape and prep you for labor! Hope this helps!
