One of my friends went through that a few years back. They considered sperm donation, but her family absolutely rejected the idea. (They are both western, but have lived here in HK for about 9 years). They now have two adorable little chinese boys that they have adopted and couldn't be happier.
    All the best,
    Katie

hi carang -- lol. no, not THOSE kinds of hubby problems. my hubby is very sweet.
we've just gone from thinking we were healthy and normal to worrying about sperm counts and morphology percentages. it's been a bit tough.
i think women are hard on ourselves when we feel like we can't accomplish the "womanly" task of carrying a child. but men have similar issues, too.

We have very close friends who are in this position. The husband has some freak genetic 'disease' that means it is absolutely impossible for him to father a child. He is beyond devastated. It is very hard to watch. His brother has fathered children no problem so that is another issue, that he inherited the problem from the mother but the other brother didn't. The doctors have all said it is one of the rarest problems out there but that there is no remedy.

They are now using donor sperm to try to get pregnant but he is still devastated that the child will not be his genetically. He always talks about how his brother will be the only one to pass on the family genes etc.

I wish you good luck. You're right that most people think it's only women that go through this. I think that regardless of gender it is very upsetting.

My husband has low morphology of just 1%, and I am totally ok, had all kind of tests and results came back as normal. Now we are trying IUI this month, hope this will improve our chances.

    What is your hubby's problem?

our situation is similar. i'm fine. he has low morphology. we're trying lifestyle changes, like he's going to cut down drinking and smoking, and maybe surgery. after that, we'll probably try iui in dec. good luck to you!

Hope the lifestyle changes you are making will improve the morphology level. My hubby doesn't smoke and only drink occasionally, but his job does demand him to travel a lot.

Fingers crossed this will be our lucky month!! Good luck to you too!
