Hi mums
I'm in the midst of battling future education plans for my wee one - the usual debate: Local vs International. My colleagues have helped out and pointed me in some direction. They've got their kids in EMI DSS which aren't expensive. All swear by the local primary then international secondary route.
We're out in the boonies and for mums in the boonies, our pickings are slim for good EMIs which don't require an executive portfolio. But these school:
WF Joseph Lee Primary School (Tin Shui Wai) and Gigaminds
are worth considering. My colleague's son attended the former is an excellent English student - well-rounded, speaks, reads and writes good English (native fluency). Top 6 in his current high school - heading to the US for future studies. Best bit... school fees are just a little over $1000 a month! It's better set up than the PLK Yuen Yuen Primary in Tuen Mun and is bilingual - English + Putonghua (not Cantonese).
Also, another colleague pointed out this link - very useful for parents not wanting the International school route.
hkcampus.net - Primary
I think you can also look into the Kinder options on that site.
Hopefully it's useful for mums looking for the alternative route.
