Red face Looking for Hynobirting by Marie Mongan book

    Hello everyone,

I'm looking for the book and the accompanying CDs/DVDs online, and so far the only site I've seen that can deliver in less than two weeks is SHOPINHK, but the book is out of stock.

Dymocks and PageOne don't have it either.

For anyone who might know where I can get these materials in Hong Kong, (or have them shipped fast) please let me know.

    Many thanks!
    Ems

You can buy book and CD from Annerly Midwives in LKF - I am currently doing the actual course there and have seen it on their shelves - think the book is around HKD160 - they have just had a batch arrive.
    Good luck

Now therein lies a loaded question! What you get out of a course is always related to:
    (1) how much you put in yourself
and (2) your own personal beliefs and interests.

Particularly when it comes to something like this. It is a world away from the "local system" antenatal style classes.

If you are asking do you think you can work on the book / CD by yourself and not attend the lessons (as yes the cost is a factor) I would say again it goes back to what type of person you are.

The commone consensus amongst those attending the course with me seems to be is that to come close to some of the hypnobirthing videos we are being shown would be astounding. Without doing the course and just reading the book / listening to the CD I would say not very likely at all.

My personal feeling is that if you are a person whos practises meditation already you're more likely to succeed.

For me I am keeping an open mind and trying to practise as we are being told to and hope to achieve a far greater degree of calmness and serenity going into birthing experience # 2 than I ever achieved with #1!

You can also go to Balance Health. Kari Shroeder also teaches the Hypnobirthing class. I also just finished mine at Annerley and I think it will really help.
