Formula is really easy to make up....at least for the formula I use - one scoop formula to one oz water. Nothing really to learn.....however many oz of water you put in the bottle is however many scoops of formula you put in.

My son just turned 1 and I will probably keep him on formula for a while longer til I decide otherwise. I`m afraid of the disgusting hormone-filled regular cow`s milk (imported or not), and it`s logistically and financially difficult to go and buy organic fresh milk(he`s on organic formula now). I found tins of organic whole milk powder here, but they`re about $240 a can, same as the formula...therefore I`m in no hurry to change. Also, my son eats really well even with 3 bottles a day, so why rock the boat, is my thinking.

My mum was told to give my brother boiled cows milk when she had BF problems!!!! (this was over 30 years ago!), and I know my grandmother had to use a 'wet nurse' when she had problems (over 60 years ago!!)......

My mother couldn't breastfeed me and formula at the time was expensive/ not easily available so I had fresh cows milk after boiling since I was 1 week old. In most developing countries that is the norm, noone goes out buying formula, even new borns are given boiled cows milk if mum can't breastfeed.

My just turned 1 year old gets a mixture of Oat Milk, Soy Milk and Organic Cows milk, its mainly because I don't drink cows milk so he gets what we have open. He doesn't seem to mind which one he has. As I still have a tin of formula left I've been adding 1 scoop premixed with water to what ever milk he is having. I had been using soy milk and oat milk on his breakfast cereal since he was 10months old so he could get used to the taste.
