    Multivitamins for breastfed infant??

When should I start incorporating multivitamins for my baby? Do I need to start giving it to him from the beginning or should I wait til he is a few months old?? Thanks!!

I have not given vitamins to my baby yet - he is 10 months old and is still breastfeeding (though he does take one bottle of formula a day in the afternoon when I am at work). I don't think there is a need to give vitamins to babies....or at least my pediatrician hasn't recommended it. I take a multivitamin myself.

Yes, I think that if you are still breastfeeding your child, then you are the one who should be taking multivitamin.

Same for me, I continued vitamins while breastfeeding, but I've never been told to give some to my baby.
I started to give him some when he was 2 years old, and wasn't very interested by vegetables or fruits, just to make sure he would get all the nutrients.

As the bottle says, vitamins are only of use where dietary intake in inadequate. I don't know of any reason to give a healthy infant vitamin tablets or liquid.

No need to give your baby vitamins, especially if its breastfed. While I was breastfeeding I took a pre-natal vitamin plus a calcium supplement. Healthy babies don`t need anything extra, especially if not recommended by a pediatrician.
