any books to recommend for 2.5 years old or below children?

    my boys both love the "Hairy Maclary" series of books too

    basically books with simple words and colourful pictures are good... i tend to buy animal books and read them stories. 2.5 yrs old loves to describe animals

    All the books, authors, brands above are great....
    Aside from authors and brands, you may also consider books that repeat the same words over and over and over and over again on each page with just a few words that are changed on each page. This encourages your child to start to remember the sight words (common words).

    Also, books that have things to touch (like some wool when its about sheep) are great as well.

    Repitition and rythmn are the things to look for for this age group.

    Another excellent author is Mem Fox (see Mem Fox Welcome!)
