HSBC, too. you can apply online if you maintain accounts with them.

We got the Pruchoice Maid Insurance policy from Prudential HK, can usually negotiate 10% discount off the standard price.

can't the DH use the public system like anyone else with a hk ID?
why the need for additional insurance when everything is covered by the public system already?

she can - but it covers only the minimal...if she gets anything major that needs hospitalization HK residents get priority and she (you) would have to pay non-resident fees. also, you can't get the yearly body check through the public system (I believe), it's really only for fevers, etc. basic stuff. the wait would be long too - but i suppose if it's nothing major, then that's not really a problem at all...

We organised ours via Kwiksure but can't remember who it is through, was around $500+. We decided to get it as it covers a lot more than health, such as disability, death etc via work (plus I think many other things like replacement helper if yours falls pregnant etc). Our helper had a few minor incidents which we ended up taking her to QMH (it was out of normal clinic hours) and it only cost us around $70HK so we didn't end up claiming anything, but we did still think it best to get the insurance to cover many other larger expenses. All the best.
