    Booking public hospital

I'm 70% certain I will choose to go to a private hospital as have insurance. Is it still worth registering and getting tests done at public ie/ QMH?

if you have insurance, why would you go to a public hospital, too?

if your insurance covers costs of dr appts then stick with that.

if you have insurance i don't see why you would get your tests done publicly - their machinery for scans, etc. is not the best (I went to the PRIVATE section for QMH and was not impressed), for scans and tests I'd suggest you go to Dr Lam Yung Hang if your insurance covers it, he's very professional and he's partner at the "HK prenatal diagnostic centre" in central - many drs actually sent their blood samples to the lab there, and his computer for the scans are incredible!

I wouldn't, unless you had complications. I've found QMH to be brilliant (better than the private doctors) at handling my pregnancy complications. Chances are though in my case, I would have been transferred to QMH even if I wanted to go private.

leslie, their machinery is the best, from what i understand, in HK... THAT'S why if there are any complications at a private hospital they send you to a public hospital.

not from what I've experience carang - in fact the doctor at QMH told me to do a complete scan with Dr Lam Yung Hang because her scans could only get the overall picture, but could not be used to tell whether or not a baby had downs...i know for sure that the OTHER machinery is great cause my daughter was in neonatal ICU for 10 days and the machinery was excellent for her care.

    thanks, didn't know that!

i was seen by the high risk team at QMH and had absolutely no problem whatsoever with the equipment.

during my first pregnancy, i was asked to participate in a study, what did i have to do? go once/month for a FREE 3D scan! it was awesome! i really missed it when i was pregnant with my 2nd.
