Giving eye drops to toddler
Hi, I hope someone can give me some suggestions.
My 4 year old has early signs of Conjunctivitis in one of his eyes and the doctor has given us eye drops to use. However, after taking the eye drops once, he now refuses to open his eyes for me to give him the drops.
Someone suggested letting him keep his eyes closed while I put the drop in the corner of his eyes and the solution will fall into his eyes once he opened them. Well, this worked once and then he refused to open his eyes again which made the solution go all over his face...aarrgg!! Also, we can't use the drops when he is sleeping.
No matter how much bribing, explaining, missing school....etc it doesn't work. I'm literally at my wits end as the eye does seemed to be getting worse. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!!
