Any opinion on PLK Whampoa Garden/Hung Hom?
Before enrolling my daughter there, I would like to know if this kindergarten is any good. The exact name of this local school is:
Po Leung Kuk Tam Au-Yeung Siu Fong Memorial Kindergarten
Teaching is in Cantonese, Mandarin and English. The school looks clean and the woman gave me a good impression. She seemed to know kids and was caring. It is very convenient for me too because at walking distance to where I live. The only thing was that there are only spaces in the afternoon, which means I should reschedule my daughter's naps or skip them :(
Please tell me what you heard about this kindergarten. I visited other schools around but was not satisfied:
Anfield: too expensive
William: woman very strict
Cannan: full
Deborah: small and not enough toys
Learning Habitat: could not visit, and space only in the afternoon too
Catiline: very nice but far away
Thank you for your feedback.

i would say, 'go for it'. if you don't like it, then you can always change later. PLK kindergartens/schools seem to have a fairly good reputation.
my kids go to a kindergarten run by Tsun Tsin Mission... you may want to have a look and see if they have any kindergartens in your area. my kids LOVE going to school.

I went there too! Nice but no English at all. My daughter does not even speak English but I find it more useful for her to learn English than Cantonese, because I don't think I will spend all my life in HK. But I like the idea of sending her in a local school as part of her experience here, that is also why I liked PLK (both local and multilingual).

I am still hesitating on which kindergarten I can enroll my daughter. The idea to reschedule her naps as she is only 2 years and 9 months just because one school has space for her on afternoons only makes me skeptical. May be I should enroll her at Catiline which is 20mn walking but looks good and have space in the morning and prepare application soon enough at PLK for next year. So is there someone here that has an opinion on Catiline in Whampoa? Thanks.

Hi,
Hi,
My son was studying there and he is now in primary.
My daughter is now studying there in K1. Teachers are ok, except few.
Some rare incident of racism involving teachers and some kids happened.
Other than that is a good kindergarten to attend.

And the Principal is very rigid and tight faced. She is not comfortable with non-Chinese.
She is not friendly with Non Chinese parents.

Im an employee there at the moment and I think its a great place. Ok, my opinion is bias but your not going to find any perfect school. I do like that they are working with technology through smartboards. They had different extra curricular activities for the students like Tae Kwon Do, Singing and Poetry Contests. They practice Tai Chi and have a blend of PE types of activities. If you need to know anything, please feel free to ask me.
