Concentration and pregnancy
Does anyone else suffer from a really short attention span and inability to concentrate? Is this a common pregnancy "side effect" or is it just me?
For the first three months I was rubbish at work because I was so exhausted. After that I was good for 1 and a half months (lots of energy too), but now at 24 weeks I am starting to really underperform at work again because I just can't seem to concentrate on anything...
...of course it might just be because I have something so much more interesting to look forward to in a couple of months.

Very common and well documented. Weird, isn't it!

I got fired from a PT job when I was about 4-5 months pregnant because I somehow forgot about a shift. I simply thought it was a different day. It had never happened to me before and was mortifying.
I remember how new and exciting the first pregnancy was. Lots to think about, lots to plan for. Plus, all the hormone changes make it even worse.

I found it got worse after I had my son and daughter (for about 3 months)! I used to walk into a room and completely forget why I had gone there, misplace nearly everything (except the baby!) and as for counting..... forget about it!

Did you see Desperate Housewives tonight? Funny, as Lynette had the same issue!

I'm at 36 weeks now. Had to attend 4 hours worth of meetings yesterday to plan the school year ahead and honestly, I couldn't concentrate! Throughout the pregnancy, I had to have a cup of tea (for the caffeine) every morning then once again at lunch to ensure that I could do my job as well as before.
And, my sense of direction which is usually good has just totally lapsed!
Some days it feels like I've had a labotomy! Even my husband is amused!“If you want to get to the castle, you’ve got to swim the moat.” Richard Jenkins in Eat Pray Love
