I chose Bellamy's firstly because it's organic, my main priority, and also because that's the kind my friend had and let my baby tried, and since it was successful, I continued with it. Also, Holle and Hipp packages are much smaller, whereas Bellamy tins are regular sized.

We use Hipp because it's organic, has 2 separate packs in a box so you don't have to worry about it going bag before you finish the box. It's also cheaper than most commercial brands and Bellamy's seems quite pricey compared to it. The new Hipp formula also has DHA and prebiotics.

I think you just have to tried a few at the beginning. I tried like 4 or 5 before finding a right one. Finally we settled with Enfamil.

Also, i think Enfamil offers a little more selection for special needed baby, like if your baby has more gas. You can try their Gentlease or ProSobee. If the baby has reflux, may be A.R. is good option.

We use Similac and everything seems to be working fine.

Another important thing that you need to consider is the availability in your home country in case you are going back for a long period of time.

3Tower makes a good point about considering whether it is available in your home country. We chose to use HIPP which was great but when we went home to Canada I had to carry it all with me because I couldn't find a place to buy it there. Makes for very heavy baggage and the worry that you will run out and your baby won't like anything else if you do run out.
