    milk on flights

    Hi,

I'm going on a long flight with my son and I wanted to ask, how can we bring cow's milk on board for him? Do the security people allow the milk since it's for baby or do they hold you to the liquid rules?

You may want to check with the airline because they might have it available to you. Then, no need to carry it with you. We didn't have any problems bringing formula and water to mix the formula though.

We have carried cows milk a lot of times on flights without any problem. But I think it would depend on the airline and destination.

For my toddler son, although he normally drinks fresh cows milk nowadays, I buy cartons of ready made formula (e.g. aptamil) and take those with me. I haven't had a problem going through security in HK. In London they make me open half the cartons to taste them and then I have to throw them away so I just buy double (how annoying!)

Not all airlines have milk on board - I know many of the budget airlines do not, but the security staff have never given me any problems about bringing UHT milk when they see that I'm travelling with a child.

I ALWAYS bring my own milk for my son who is 2.5. When we fly 19 hours back to NYC from Singapore, I bring the small UHT six carton of Paul's milk with us with no problems at all. Like yonge said above, when they see you with a child, they never ask questions. I always make sure the plastic is never open around it.
