Supermarkets in HK have run our of salt...

Just checked with the supermarkets around and all are out of stock for Salt. Reason: People have started stocking up fearing that it might be contaminated with the nuclear radiations from Japan in the future.

Same goes for jp milk powder. And soon other jp products, no doubt. Classic hysteria.
It's funny that people don't have a problem eating fish from hk and Chinese waters. Hm.

just had a conversation with my local hubby,

"hubby, did you know that there is no salt or soy sauce left in the supermarkets? hk people think they can use it to protect themselves from radiation."

"hk people are idiots!" so says my hk hubby...

Thanks cara.. i forgot to mention the soy sauce in my thread.... Even that was missing from the supermarket shelves .
Tha same is the case in china also, esp in Gaungdong region. No salt, no soy sauce. A few shops that have them are selling them for 60-70 RMB for every small packet.
