Ivf in Thailand, anyone care to share her experience?
A distant cousin had a baby thru ivf treatment in Bangkok. There, you can choose the sex of your baby and they also accept non married couple.. It seem easy n much more affordable than Hk (even adding the travel cost).. I have asked my OB in regards but he said it's just ONE successful case.. I can't base my decision on it... True is we don't know the quality of service is behind the glossy websites. We'd appreciate
feedback from people who've experienced doing IVF in Thailand.

I lived in Bangkok for 4 years. During this time I was trying to conceive naturally and suffered 3 miscarriages. I did not try assisted reproduction although I was offered various options, ranging from artificial insemination to IVF. Therefore I do not have direct experience of IVF. My experience of the doctors and medical there in the private medical system was excellent however.
Overall the private medical care in Bangkok is of a very high standard. You probably have heard that medical tourism is huge in Thailand. The private hospitals are second to none in comfort, with accommodation and support services very similar to 5-star hotels. The Thai medical staff are highly trained; specialists train both in Thailand and in top universities, hospitals and clinics in the US, Europe and Australia. Medical equipment is brand new but efficiently used, hospital cases management is computerized and paperless. Costs are a lot cheaper than the rest of Asia (read HK & Singapore) but not India.
The major private hospitals for medical 'tourists' are:
Bumrungrad Hospital - this is owned by Bangkok Bank
Bangkok Nursing Home
Samitivej hospital
There are numerous other private hospitals that cater also for Thais and foreigners but none are as savvy (marketing wise) as the hospitals I list above.
All these hospitals have obstetric & gynae clinics, as well as fertility clinics.
I have heard of a fertility clinic, Jetanin http://www.jetanin.com/whoweare/philos.htm that has a high success rate. The high success rate may be attributed to treatments that are experimental (eg gender selection as you mention) as there are no ethical rules or regulations in Thailand forbidding this. However I have no direct experience of this clinic so you have to make more inquiries of your own.

Not first hand infos but a good friend of mine did IVF in bangkok after doing 2 or 3 attempts here with Dr Doo(she wasnt ver happy with him as he never recognise her at each visits...)
it was successfull on their first attempt in BKK.They didn t choose the sex. I m not sure if they were offered the choice.
But they were extremely happy with the clinic.
They used this one which is linked with Sydney IVF http://www.thaisuperiorart.com/index.php

Hi Chocolate****es, does your aunt still work for Superior Art? We have been recommended to go there after 3 failures with Safe Fertility @ Dr. Wiwat. But I heard the former head of Superior Art in Bangkok has left. Can you aunt shed light on their current management and technology with PGS?

I don’t know why you have decided that Bangkok would be a great option. I suppose you should find good clinic regardless country. Our journey to "baby" took us three years. In those 3 years, we tried almost everything but everything was for nothing. Thus our fertility specialist said that IVF treatment might be an option for us. He also mentioned that it might need more than one round as IVF can`t give a positive result at once. We were really upset as we didn’t give such big money. I started to investigate the IVF issue. And faced on a commercial about one centre for human reproduction in Kiev. It was amazing because this clinic provides 5 rounds of IVF for around 30,000€. We understood that it was our chance. The IVF journey was really long and exhausted but we made this. I got pregnant from the 3rd round by our adorable son. I just want to say that there is another country where IVF can be successful.
