Doc going on vacation when I am due

like Obiwan says, I believe that you need to develop a relationship with whomever your doctor is. my doctor was there throughout my deliveries and i believe that was because he knew that i'd freak out if he were to leave my side...he (dr lam yung hang) played a very active role in the birthing process, telling the mid-wives when and exactly how to help and for that i really appreciated it because he knew psychologically i needed the reassurance from him to "get through the process"

Thanks everyone! These responses are great.
You're all right. Induction is not the way to go.
I'll see the back-up doctor and go over my birth plan, just in case.
And then I'll cross my fingers that baby decides to arrive right on her due date, when my normal doctor is back.
