Hi, I know a team of doctors who charge around HK$500 for each regular check-up and very cheap vitamin and clacium tablets; but they are mostly in TST. I know few like Dr. Sung Kit NG.

Doesn't harm to ring the clinic:
    2722 1387 (TST)
    2722 1712 (Sha Tin)

    Hi Janeyc,

Congrats!! I'm currently a patient with Dr. Patrick Chan and no, he does accept "non-delivering" patient. In fact, he never mentioned anything about the new "policy". Both myself and my hubby still have another two weeks to decide if i should deliver in HK or back in our home country (as we have tentatively booked a hosp).

On your second que - no as well, i went to Dr. Patrick when i was just 4 weeks pregnant. He is pretty good, give it a try!

I read here that Doctor Patrick Chan was very good with non-delivering patients but it seems that he has changed his policies and no longer takes moms who will not delivery with him. Could anyone give me suggestions on doctors who are willing to see non-delivering patients? Also, I heard from somewhere that doctors here won't see you unless you're 6 weeks or more? Is this true? I think I'm 4-5 weeks now.

I've heard Sally Ferguson is extremely expensive if you're paying out of pocket. She does not offer a maternity package and charges a-la-carte.

    Hi Janenyc and all!

First off, congrats! I also just found out that I'm pregnant (probably about 9 weeks along). I called Dr. Patrick Chan's office and for patients that aren't delivering with him in a private hospital, his earliest appointment is October 31, 2011. I've scheduled a consultation with Dr. Chan Kuen-Ting in CWB for tomorrow so I can send you a PM afterwards if you'd like to know of our thoughts.

Hope that you're doing great and surviving the HK heat!

    Hi Aldv,

Yes, I would like to hear more about Doctor Chan Kuen-Ting. I've gone to see Dr. Ferguson and she was very kind and I very much enjoyed the visit but I'm wondering if I should try out another doctor as well. Thanks!

Hi Aldv, I'd also be interested in hearing how your appointments with Dr. Chan Kuen-Ting have been. Could you let me know? Thx!

I'm looking for a private doctor who'd be willing to see patients delivering in a public hospital. I just called Dr. Patrick Chan's office and the earliest appointment they could give me (for delivering in a public hospital) is early February!
If anyone has any other recommendations, I'm all ears!

    dr lam

i did not have insurance when pregnant. i need by scans privately with dr lam in central . His bedside manner is a bit brusque but he is amazingly clever at interpreting scans. he specialises in scans but also has good obs knowledge.

my baby nuchal fold was 4.9 (in uk they advise to terminate...). dr lam did a cvs and a through scan and said he was confident my baby was ok and just big.

he was right.. my baby came in just under 4kg and is big like his dad!!! i will always be grateful to dr lam for being so positive throughout mu pregnancy.

you do not need to deliver with him to get scans
