Would second Damienmum. Had dr lam for two pregnancies and his interpreation of scans is incredible!

For #2 I was recommended by my original by my original doc to get the amnio cause the Oscar results came out borderline...he did a coup, scans and said he could guarantee that my daughter was more than fine and that results from the oscars are not 100% reliable And that scans are the most reliable (you got to do the Well though!)

For #3 he saw that my sons right kidney was more pronounced that the left T 35wks. As a result he referred me to a pediatrian that is also a kidney specialist ....dr Richard chiu...

Very grateful for his skills...must say his bedside manner was fine with me as I had teo kids delivered by him, but he is slow to warm. Good ing is though he's is there from the minute you get admitted to hospital.

Alot of doctors refer mums to Dr Lam for the 12 week scan as he specialises in this.
Another option if you have a relatively straightforward pregnancy is to go to Annerley Midwives in Central for your prenatal check ups. They have a variety of options and packages and are cheaper than going to a doctor. I found Hulda very good. She is a good listener and has excellent suggestions on any difficulties you have with the pregnancy.

I went to the Queen Mary hospital for check ups at 30 weeks. The wait is not as bad as in the UK. I had a slightly complicated pregnancy and they made sure I got the best medical treatment. I was rhesus negative (only 0.5% of asians are and i was one of them!) The rhesus negative injections is very expensive privately (about $3000 each and i needed two). All i had to do was wait for 1.5hours at the queen Mary for them. The Queen Mary were great about me using Dr Lam privately and looked at my reports from him as well.

    Hi aldv,

Would like to know about your apt with Dr Chan Kueng Tin. Would appreciate if you can briefly share your experience with him. Any recommendation ( going first time to a gynac).

First off, congrats! I also just found out that I'm pregnant (probably about 9 weeks along). I called Dr. Patrick Chan's office and for patients that aren't delivering with him in a private hospital, his earliest appointment is October 31, 2011. I've scheduled a consultation with Dr. Chan Kuen-Ting in CWB for tomorrow so I can send you a PM afterwards if you'd like to know of our thoughts.

Hope that you're doing great and surviving the HK heat!
