    Helper's hair

Hi mums & dads out there

My helper is great and my kids adore her, but I have one concern since my newborn arrived. Her hair is a bit massy and gets into my baby's face. My baby has some rashes on the face so I really want her to pull her hair back.

I offered her nice hair scrunchies & hair bands and set the example by pulling my hair all the way back, but she still doesn't get it. What should I do? Any advice?

    Thanks!

Why don't you just ask her to attach her hair ?

why not just ask her to tie it back when dealing with the baby? it's not difficult nor is it an absurd request. she should have no problem doing it.

i'd just tell her that she needs to tie up her hair when handling the baby. you can let her know that the baby will eventually start pulling at her hair too - so it will just be less painful for her in the long run!

not really, it's like ripping off a band-aid/plaster.... the faster and more direct, the better.

    good luck!

Just tell her and be direct about it and when you see that it's falling out into your baby's face remind her then and there and offer to help her pull it up. If you keep "hinting" at what you want it's not likely you're going to get the result you want.

“Many women have described their experiences of childbirth as being associated with a
spiritual uplifting, the power of which they have never previously been aware …
To such a woman childbirth is a monument of joy within her memory.
She turns to it in thought to seek again an ecstasy which passed too soon.”

Agree, don't hint. Just tell her exactly what you want. She's an adult, and she'll understand that it is part of her job. This is by no means an unreasonable request for her.
