Is this enough sleep for a four months?

    Hi,

My baby just turn four months and normally he will sleep for 1 hour or 1 hour 15 mins for his morning nap. 2 hours or 2 and a half hours for hus noon nap. I will normally breast feed him ard 6 plus and close to 7pm he will sleep for the night. I will wake him up ard 10.30 - 11pm for his night feed and put him back to his cot to continue his sleep. He then will wake up around 5.30am, sometime 6 or 6.30am n play in his cot until I come to him for his feed at ard 7 am. I wonder why he wake up so early in the morning. Although he didnt make noise. Is there anyway I can adjust his timing so that he start his day around 7am or later? feel so poor thing for him to wake up n wait in his cot. And I am wonder is this enough sleep for him. Thank you.

We have a 3 month old and her sleep pattern us similar to how you describe. It seems to be well within the "norms" in our baby books. Our daughter also wakes up at 6 ish and gurgles for a while before she gets hungry or lonely.

Very normal and hard to change. My LO is 8 months old and still wakes up exactly at 6:00am regardless of what time she lays down for the night. I think she is really sensitive to the sunlight.

Yep, sounds totally normal and definitely difficult to change. If you haven't already done so, you may want to consider getting some curtains that block most or all of the light from the windows. This is the only thing that helped our baby sleep a little later in the morning. If there is any light, she is up with the sun.

    Hi elle,

I have already have the curtain that block most of the light. I feel better now since this seems to be 'normal'. Thank you guys for your reply!
