This is so frustrating :(
Just completed 39 weeks n started getting contractions a couple of days ago and was delighted that finally ... the time has come !!!!. Was there at PMH for 2 nights and back home today. :(
Reason: contractions not regular and also the pain has decreased.( was at 5 mins before but now after 8 to 10 mins )
Feeling really frustrated to be back home again. Anyone been through this before ? How long did you have to wait after that ?

Sometimes lying down and resting can slow down or even stop labor so when you were at the hospital, did they immediatley put you in a bed and strap you to a monitor? I would suggest going for a walk (even in your home) to try to get it moving again and don't go in to hospital until labor is active.

I had 3 days/nights of irregular contractions, between 5 and 15 minutes apart. You do have to keep moving as much as you can and try and stay away from the hospital until labor is active. I take it this is your first? This was my second, and once the "real" contractions started in it happened very very fast!

It's not uncommon for this to go on for 10 days or even longer. While walking can often help you also want to make sure that you aren't exhausted by the time active labour kicks in. Try to rest as much as possible, sleep whenever you can and know that the body is preparing itself for the big event! Best of luck x

I had "bloody show" and my mucus plug started coming off about a week before I actually gave birth. As instructed by the public system, I went in and they admitted me. However, after one night with absolutely nothing happening (and a quick google on my phone revealing this could go on for days), I indicated to the doctor on his rounds the next day that I'd much rather be at home since I wasn't even seeing any more blood. So he discharged me with instructions to come back if it got worse. I was back five days later for the real thing.

With my second child, I has bloody show in the am, went to the hospital only to be asked to return home, cos actual labor could happen within 24 hours or take weeks. The same night my water broke, went straight to hospital at 4am and delivered in the am. Everything happened very quickly.
With my first, contraction happened at 3am but wasn't strong enough to go into actual labour and we decided to induce at 3pm the next day, baby was born at night.
