Kumon Books
Rani
Have looked at ShopinHK for Kumon Books.
Been asked increasing to tutor kids privately using Kumon books but they're $70 per book at a bookshop in IFC. Was looking for cheaper alternatives and I noticed that SIHK has some but the range is limited. Is it out of stock or do you not carry them?
Cheers!

Thanks Rani!
When I typed in Kumon Books, for whatever reason, only 5 came up! And they were the toddler skills lot. Found what I'm looking for. Much cheaper from SIHK. Will be organising and order once I've received confirmation of tutorial service.“If you want to get to the castle, you’ve got to swim the moat.” Richard Jenkins in Eat Pray Love

There was a thread on Kumon before and as I know from working in a school, the teachers I work with are not very keen on Kumon. It drills them but it doesn't give them any understanding about how and why it's done a certain way, let alone different ways to do it. It's very clear which children do Kumon and who doesn't, the ones who do can get a good score and tell you an answer but are not able to answer additional question or explain in any different way. My daughter is not great in maths so I am helping her using her different strategies (given to me by school), applying it to daily life. As an extra tool, we use the IXL website and once she works on a different unit in the IB, she does the maths related to that unit. She likes it a lot, which helps her getting it done.
Anyway, just wanted to share.

We use the Kumon books, and it helps give D some confidence with Maths. We just do a couple chapters 1x week.
A teacher friend of mine said, that she knows a number of teacher's kids who do Kumon. :)Founded GeoBaby in 2002
