This is one of my favorite poems called Reading Allowed by Taylor Mali. He contends that it doesn't matter what we read as long as we do it because it's quality time.
*WARNING* The beginning of the poem seems a bit "adult" but you'll see it soon turns into quite the touching and funny poem. It's not too explicit but there are some sexual tones there. I personally think it's fine but others might be offended so just wanted to forewarn you.“Many women have described their experiences of childbirth as being associated with a
spiritual uplifting, the power of which they have never previously been aware …
To such a woman childbirth is a monument of joy within her memory.
She turns to it in thought to seek again an ecstasy which passed too soon.”
