Deliver Private - Baby checkup at MCHC

    Is it possible?
At first, I wanted to deliver at QMH. But I have lost my faith on them after the way they treated my spotting during the first trimester. :(
But I really want to save $$$. Thus, thinking to go MCHC for baby checkup

Yes, it's possible. That's what I intended to do for my second, and I think I even told them that I might deliver privately in the end but needed to keep both options open for financial reasons. They said they had no objection (don't think you need to tell them though).

I was also open with my private ob/gyn that I wanted to do some checkups in the public system and he was fine with it. I particularly did the more expensive tests public.

In the end, I delivered public (at United Christian) so it was a good thing I kept the options open.

How do I register newborn at MCHC?
I'm still going parallel route. Check up at MCHC but have booked St Paul hospital for delivery.

    Here's a list of MCHC

Family Health Service Maternal and Child Health Centres

You can call and register at the nearest one. I do remember getting a letter from the clinic in our area shortly after baby was born, with details on the services they offer and an appt time for our 1st visit. We didn't go as we had already signed up at the Well Baby Clinic at the Canossa.

Silly question. My hubby and I hold HKID but nor permanent residency. In this case is the baby still considered eligible? What do I need to bring?
When I'm registering with MCHC should I tell them that I will be have delivery in private? When is the 1st checkup after hospital discharge? Do I make appointment with MCHC before or after delivery?

Baby will have a dependent visa and is eligible .

Here's a list of things you need to bring

Family Health Service Registration for Service

First appointment is around 1 month, which is when you will receive your birth certificate.

Of course you can go MCHC for check up, even you can keep going to QMH check up.

You can request a record(need pay) to your private doctor.
