We go to our nearest government mchc (mother child health clinic). If you do a search you'll find a list of them and the areas each one serves, it also has a list of the hk vax schedule which may be different to australia.

You could also just go to a private doctor but at the mchc they're free :)

It is slow the first time around. Once they get you on the schedule you should be ok.

The schedule can be found here - Immunisation Schedules 2013 - Hong Kong Baby & Pregnancy - GeoBaby.Com

I think it depends on your mchc, mine is always really busy.

thanks for the tips. unfortunately it was an awful outing for me. after making the appointment and finally arriving at the nearest clinic (which was quite difficult to get to) I was told that because my sons visa expires within 6 months I could not obtain the free service offered. I figured for the amount they wanted to charge .. around $650 I may be better off going to see a private dr? any recommendations?

How strange. I've never been asked about my baby's visa or shown his passport. Are you on a tourist visa?

As for the price, it would depend what was included, but it's still probably cheaper than private. My ped charges $600 per visit and the vaccinations cost extra.
