    Babies and Infants Gene Test

Just read an article in Sept Playtime magazine about sending their kids to do genetic testing to learn about their body and talents, have anyone here done it and how was the experience?

Sounds like an easy way to relieve HK parents of yet more of their money!

Wow $20-50K for a test! That's a lot to spend.

They're tailoring curriculum's based on the results? Does that mean a musically gifted child will never be exposed to any sports? Takes all the fun out of parenting and discovering new things your child is good at :)

I don't believe for a moment that a dna test is going to tell you what your child will or won't be good at. This seems terribly Orwellian to me.

sorry guys i missed out page 2 of the interview yesterday, page0081.pdf

I have called that center and they say this is the most scientific way to know our kids since its DNA they are talking about.......

Well, i hope from the test i can find our if my babies are gonna have certain diseases which i can actually do something to prevent them from happening, and hopefully its gonna help...

Before spending the money it might be worth discussing all this with your dr.

Also, would you really want to know if your baby had a higher than average risk of a disease you *can't* do anything to prevent?

    Hi Aquarian,

Thank so much for your advice, Yes i have consulted my Doctor and he actually encouraged me to do so but told me to consider carefully whether i can bare with the results and the psychological side of it.

But for me the most important thing is for my kid to be healthy and happy, which the test itself hopefully will provide the info that i need, and I was told by the company that they will not test the things that nothing could be done, so that will make things easier for me.

Should my kids diagnosed with things like Asthma or allergies then i can really ease his pain by some early preventive measures....

Will keep you guys updated here after the test is done!
