Christmas with a helper
Ladies, this is our helper´s 1st contract with us and she already had plenty of holidays, 2 paid tickets to Manila. I wanted to let her spend Christmas with her family but plane tickets are so much more expensive than rest of the year. She was quite disappointed when I told her she would not go home.
I wanted to know how other people who have a DH spend Christmas. Do you eat dinner with your helper and open the presents together? etc
TIA for your comments

Christmas is a holiday. She spends it with her friends outside and I guess attends the Christmas Mass at her Church. We do give her some cash as Xmas gift, but no where as much as "expat" gifts - more like hkd 500.

No. We did not spend Christmas Day with our helper. I insisted that she take the day off - because it is law and that she needed to amuse herself. She would normally go out after saying good morning but that was all.

actually, christmas is not necessarily a holiday. it is either christmas or winter solstice.
