I am doing them with the hospital. However they only offer the classes in English again in August. If you can do them in Canto, I think they are available every month.

YanYan, I would recommend calling Tsan Yuk Hospital (prenatal care done here) and book your first antenatal appt. The # is 2589 2100

I am planning to give birth there in September with all my care being done privately in HK. We are waiting for our id card which will come in two weeks and I plan to register then as well. Spoke to the hospital and they are ok with that. Good luck with your move.

Thanks Goldmark! Is two weeks how long it takes to get the HKID cards? The company HR told us that we can get them on the same day. Do you only get a confirmation/receipt sort of thing but have to wait for the cards to arrive in two weeks before you register in the hospital?

It takes four weeks I believe. But once the visa comes on two weeks for us we can then get a receipt or temp ID card that hospital has verbally confirmed is ok to register.

Hi! This is my first post but I'm in a very similar situation.

I work in HK, my wife will join me in November and her due date is late January. I'm currently overseas but I got today the news that her dependent visa is approved. So I wonder if it's worthy for me to go to HK to collect the Visa and use it to book in Queen Mary (I live in the area) or if my wife would have to go too to apply for the HKID.

Some people said that the Visa approval is enough, but I would like to confirm it.

    Thanks!!
