Public Hospital - Kits (for pre-labour/labour/post natal wards)

We've been told by Annerley, that if you are giving birth in a public hospital (i.e. Queen Mary), you will be required to have 3 separate bags ready for your arrival to pass to the hospital staff (pre-labour, labour, post natal).

Contents required, include maternity pads, bed pads, masks, mesh underwear, etc.

Although your partner can purchase these items at the 7-11 in the hospital (and they will make your partner get everything on the list!), I have just found mini and large kits at Eugene Club Baby in Central for 169.00 (mini) and 260.00 (large). Much cheaper than Annerley's kit, which will run you just over 900.00 (but includes some little extras, like massage oil, lip balm, tea, and some others, which I already have and really don't need).

If you go to Tsan Yuk for your prenatal care, there's a little store round the corner that has everything you need. It's called Ah Chi Co.

I am a first time mom and I have no idea at all about what to bring so I purchased the Annerley pack.It does have everything you need plus extra stuff but after doing more research and asking other moms around, I kinda regret buying it since it is pretty expensive. In the package, it has 2 packs of under pads.(10 pads each pack) Most moms I talked to said they only used 3-5 under pads.So 2 packs is just a waste. The package also includes 8 pcs newborn diapers. You are obviously gonna need way more than that if you are staying in the hospital for 2-3days! So I purchased my own pack of diapers to bring. I'm due next month so we'll see...but I do feel that $900 is not worth the Annerley pack. I never new about those mini packs and if I did, I would have bought that instead.

Thanks rani for the tip - I bought mine at Ah Chi Ho a few weeks ago. Have no idea how I'll use all that stuff yet but if its needed then I've got it!

The kit from Ah Chi Ho cost around 200 hkd and includes 1 cleansing bottle, 2 10pc packs of pads, 4 mesh pants, 10 pcs of underpass.
