    Hi all,

I am 10 weeks pregnant. Since this is my first baby I don't know much things.
Please guide when can I start using anti-stretch marks creams & oils? Also which are good brands?

    Any suggestions/inputs are welcome.

    Hello

I haven't done extensive research on the different brands or what Constitutes as an effective anti-scratch mark oil / cream.

But I've used the oil from beyorg which claims to be 'organic'.

I've used it for my first pregnancy starting when I was 2 months. And thank god my belly did not look like a truck had run over it with tire marks all over (sorry! That's how I would describe the stretch marks)

I'm using the same brand for my second pregnancy now!

A lot of mums use bio-oil. It's available at Mannings/Watsons. It's hard to say if its effective. Many baby gurus say the marks are genetic.

    It is genetic, unfortunately.
I have tried oil and cream to try and reduce the amount I would get but
knew I would not get away unscathed as all the girls that are mums in my family have had them too :(

As a general 'rule' moisturising is great for the skin and on the long term and after giving birth will help your skin go back 'to normal'.

If you want to use stretch mark oil/cream, read the label carefully as they usually say to only start using them starting from 4 months onwards...
But all depends on the type of cream/oil you would like to use!

    Good luck!

For stretch mark DermalMD Stretch Mark Serum is awesome! After 3 kids I have old and fairly new stretch marks as well as scars from c sections. This serum goes a long way and absorbs quickly. My skin is so moisturized and after a few weeks the stretch marks are fading! My scar is getting smoother as well.
