Based on recommendations on the forum I'm booked to see Dr. Patrick Chan next week.

Anyone know about the private hospitals? Dr Chan is affiliated to all of the ones on HK Island. Is it worth doing tours?

    Newbian.

Most members deliver at the Matilda or Adventist on the island. The Sanatorium is also quite popular with Happy Valley mums. Yes go for a tour.

Do you have insurance? Here's a list of maternity packages at private hospitals.

    Thanks Rani - helpful!

We have insurance that covers $50K vaginal/$75K C-section, so will pay anything additional out of pocket. I'm planning to go for a shared room and vaginal delivery which is a cheaper option. I'm more concerned about getting an epidural when I want it - which I'm told is hit-and-miss at public - and having my husband with me throughout labor which is the reason I am going for private.

    Hi Ilovemybebe!

So has anyone had their first prenatal appointment yet? My GP said 8 weeks is the normal time but I'm so anxious to find out how things are going! Still have a week and a half to go.

I'm 9w2d today, been to the OB twice...the first time was when I was 7w2d but the ultrasound shows only 6w4d, was kinda worried! Coz I'm 36 this year, plus it's my first time being pregnant...then everything was back to normal on the second visit! Will have my third visit in 2 weeks! Will take blood samples for the Oscar test! Don't worry! Its gonna be super amazing the first time you see your baby's heartbeat on the screen! Good luck with your first apportment!
Btw, Are there any of you who's also 30+?
