First pregnancy and in Hong Kong
Hi everyone,
I'm pregnant for the first time....I'm trying to find a OBGYN; I'm an expat and value bedside manners as this is my first pregnancy and have no idea what to expect. Who should I see? Also any advice, tips or suggestions would be appreciated.
Thank you.

hi Mouse,
I am expat too, my obgyn was Dr. Yuen Tak Ho Paul , his clinic in causeway bay at mc donalds building.
I used to asked him a lot of question since it was my first time pregnancy and he was always patience to answer to my worries. the cilick will charge you for HKD 1500 for fist time visit then HKD 800 afterwards.
I am not referring him to you, since so many good obgyn in HK

I think Grace Cheung at Central health has a great bedside manner. She was just what I needed for my first (and second) pregnancies in Hong Kong. I think their fees have recently increased though. You may want to check insurance re coverage and which docs they cover as the fees for OBGYNs and hospitals can vary quit e a lot here!
Best of luck and congratulations!

Hey congratulations! It's my first one too and in HK. It can be overwhelming trying to get all the options available and finding out who is who etc...
Have you decided to go private or public or even a little of both? I'm doing a little if both.
I went to a place called Annerly- they're based in central. They are mostly midwifes and they give you really good information about public vs private. They do these talks every Fri.
How far into your pregnancy are you?

Hi Leccs,
Thank you and congratulations on your pregnancy too :)
I think the best choice for us is Private. Yes I've been to one of the Annerly midwives talk. I'm in my first trimester, so let the research and flood of information begin. How about you?

I am also in the first trimester, an expat, first experience. Congratulations to you. I went for my first visit last Saturday with Dr May Mok at the Women's Clinic in Central. I and my husband liked her patience in answering my 2 pager questions. So far so good. First visit 1400 + ultrasound 1000 (since I didn't remember my LMP, we wanted to do an early scan). Hope you find your OBGYN soon.
