Maybe some moms & dads with older kids can help me out.
When your kids reach a certain age, do you stop having a helper?
Right now, I am totally dependent on my helper. I am a working mom with two kids under the age of 5.
But, at some point, kids become independent. They don't need to be ushered to and from school. (We walk). They don't need someone to cook and feed every meal.
About what age does this happen in HK?
BTW, I don't mind doing groceries, cooking, etc. My helper is there mostly for childcare & child-related housework.

It's hard for me to tell, since I grew up in the West - and not in a rich family.
We never had nannies, or even babysitters. And even below the age of 12, my brother & I were often left home alone while mom & dad bought groceries, ran errands, etc.
OK - that was a different era, in small-town America. I have no idea how things work here in 2016!

Just curious.
