GeoINSIDER: Workshops for Kindergarten Parents

As any parent knows, a child’s education doesn’t stop at the school’s front gates. It also continues at home, during story time, play time, and mommy-child activities. If you’ve got a kindergartener at home and want to learn how you can effectively help improve your child’s reading and language skills at home, the British Council is offering a series of free workshops for interested parents.

 

The teaching team at the British Council will discuss practical tips, including techniques on how to read to your child, how to get imaginative with story time, and how to make reading and writing the ABCs fun for Junior. So if you’ve been worrying about bedtime story time resembling a boring textbook read-aloud than a captivating adventure through story land, then this workshop will help transform you from a clueless parent into a creative bard.

 

All workshops are free of charge and parents will receive a British Council school bag and a children’ storybook after a course consultation.

 

The two workshops on offer are as follows:

Reading Together to Succeed Together
Learn techniques for improving your child’s reading and language skills.

Date: Aug 20 and 21
Time: 6:30 – 7:30pm; 7:45 – 8:45pm

The Write Way
Learn tips on helping your child develop their writing skills.

Date: Aug 25 and 26
Time: 6:30 – 7:30pm; 7:45 – 8:45pm
