teeth grinding

My 16 month ld has started grinding her teeth.

It started when we brought home the new baby two weeks ago, but she doesn't seem to be otherwise stressed or jealous. Any ideas what we can do to stop her?

My son also went thru a period of teeth grinding. Don't remember the exact age but I think it was also 16-18 months. Did it constantly for about 3 weeks. Awful to hear but I think he did it just because he could. I doubt it has anything to do with your new babe. Hang in there. I'm positive she'll stop soon.

Twinkle Congratulations on the new arrival! How exciting.

I wouldn't worry about the grinding either. D was doing the same thing a few weeks ago. I think he just enjoyed hearing the sound he could make. Didn't last for long.

My 16 months old grinds her teeth every now and then as well. I don't think she does it out of anxiety or stress but more to see what she can do with her different body parts. I just distract her when I find it too annoying.

I hop it will stop soon. It sounds terrible, like she's really doing some damage. I guess it's because she finally has molars on the top and bottom.
