Any mum staying in Kowloon, TST

I'm full time mum with a 21 month olds son staying in Kowloon, TST. My son is rather lonely and need to have some playmate to share toys with him.
Anyone is interested to form the playgroup in Kowloon?

    Cath,

You may want to try the YMCA in TST they have a good playgroup too.

    Hi Cathy,

I have a 22 month old son who is quite a loner and his lack of interest in playing with other kids is begining to worry me !

So did you try out the YMCA playgroup ? I don't live in TST but am in Kowloon and can get there easily.

    Hi SCR,
I've not tried out the YMCA yet as the session is started at 10.15am on Monday/Thursday which i cannot made it on time.
I share the same sentiment with you, as my son also doesn't mix around with other kids. I bought him down at the playground a few times and i've noticed that he only mingle around with the adult.

I know what you mean..most playgroup timings don't work out for me either. My son tends to get cranky very quickly in the mornings and I prefer to keep him home. After his afternoon nap and lunch he tends to be much happier and I can take him out for longer periods of time.

Is it normal for kids to be like this at this age ? I'm hoping he'll get better and more sociable after some time. I take him to a playground closeby but he will play there only if there are very few kids there. If there are too many he will hold my hand and lead me away from there ! It also doesn't help that I don't have too many friends and most people I know are working.

Yup, i still don't understand the root cause on why my son prefer to mix around with adult rather than other some kids.
SCR, do u've any Domestic Helper to share your load? and do u still go to YMCA playgroup session as I might want to join u.

    Hi Cath,

I don't go to the YMCA playgroup. Never have. I find it difficult to get into fixed routines like that with my son. If for a few days he has a routine then one day will ruin everything. So I would prefer something more relaxed. I don't have a domestic helper either so it makes it all the more difficult for me to commit to playgroups with rigid timings.

This week I'm a little busy but maybe we could talk a bit more about this next week and see if we could work something out together ? Send me a PM if you are interested.

    Regards

hi there! just a note to say that i brought my son to the playgroup at the y a few times and it's quite nice and comparably inexpensive! $45 ($40 for members) for 2 hours and it's offered on a first-come-first-serve drop-in basis so u don't have to worry about commitment. half the times we were late arriving there coz my son was probably crying or sleeping or something but they still let u in as long as the quota is not reached (30 non-member kids).

as i'm expecting in about 4 weeks i transferred my son (20 months) to one of their other programs: toddlers world, and it's working out quite well for me too as this program allows helpers to look after the kids.

    anyways, hope this helps....
