Applying for helper's visa
I am moving from Singapore and am going to bring my helper with me.We are about to sign a housing lease, my husband has his work visa which he will validate on entering HK next week and will then get his temporary ID card. Can we then apply for our helper's visa, or do we have to wait for his permanent ID card to come through.
Many thanks in advance.

i think that you mean his "real" id card. permanent implies that he is a permanent resident...
as for your quesion, i'm not sure... i think so long as he has the temporary card he should be ok. the best thing to do would be to email the immig dept. they are usually very helpful and will respond within a few days.
good luck and welcome to hk!

You can apply for helpers visa without ID card - all you need is your visa - but if you have the paper ID that is fine too. We did it four months ago with just our visa.
