back aches after birth
Happy new year to you all!
I dont know if I am alone in this but I have been experiencing back aches whenever I try to sleep on my back or on my belly and it really hurts that when I'm turning in bed one may think am 9month pregnant in the way I turn. Sometimes when I just sit for a long time.Is this normal?Help me out on this. And what can one do to relieve this pain?

Jey, I had backaches as well about 2-3 weeks after birth. I think it was mainly due to the fact that I was bending over the crib alot to pick up and put down my baby. My pain was relieved by applying the medicated plasters on my back (whihc can be bought from watsons and mannings) and a really fantastic massage.

I had my baby 3 months ago. I also have backaches but not as severe as Jey's case. I would feel sharp pain after bending (even for 20 seconds). I heard yoga would help.

Sometimes the pelvis gets out of place after a birth, so an osteopath really helps put things back in place. If you can't find an osteopath, a physio will do.

That's true. A couple of friends had a similar problem and went to see a chiropractor.

Jey, my pain did go away a week later. It seems that your case is more severe than mine. I would suggest going to an osteopath. I was going to do so if the pain did not go away but thankfully it did.
