Hi, Josephine - The interview is very straight forward and involves no test on the child. Basically, the school principal wants to know the following: what language do you use at home? who takes care of the child during the day? does the child have any allergy? what makes your child cry? what does she/he like to do? what words can she/he speak so far? etc. During the interview, the school principal will also ask the child to walk around and play toys in the classroom and she will observe her/his behaviour.

Hi Gigi,
Thanks again. I thought it was stressful for a small kid to go through interview. Glad to know it's really nothing.
One more thing...I am also looking at ICS and they have this debunture. Education is really expensive in HK! Wow...
Do you know if Boxhill has debenture and do schools return debenture at all?

Hi, Josephine - Boxhill doesn't require any debenture. If you want to see if this kindie suits your child, you can also try their Sat playgroup. BTW, HK Preschool (Royal Ascot) at Fotan is also reputable, you might want to check it out. It is a local kindie but offers international stream and most of their graduates get accepted to Shatin Junior.

Hi all!
I havent checked this thread since I last started it!
I have been here in HK for 1yr now. My dotter is with Boxhill currently. This school is great! Schoolbus service is now available.
Josephine
The interview conducted by Ms Faria will be very pleasant. Just a simple chat! I am sure your child will be accepted easily.
HK Preschool on the other hand is rather hard to get accepted. They have a long wait-list all the time. I think ICS is a very good school if you want your child to learn English as the main priority. It is a pure english school.Last edited by shimmrs; 02-24-2008 at 02:42 AM.

Thanks
Hi Shimmrs,
Thanks. I haven't logged in for such a long time! We have decided not to send our kid to Boxhill cos my husband says it doesn't have a primary school affliated so it'll be very troublesome later when we have to look for one.
Will your daughter go to a local primary school or Renaissance which is just across the road? I'm really sick bcos of all this planning and decisions.

hi Josephine
In fact, I am changing my dotter to Anchors at Tai Po. The reason is I want her to learn english and Potonghua. I hope this school is good.
Boxhill students have a higher chance of getting into Renaissance according to Ms Faria. Renaissance do give priority consideration for Boxhill students.
I am hoping for Shatin Jnr as my first choice for my dotter becos we live very near to this school in Fotan. I do not have an alternative choice of school yet.
Which kindy does your child go to? Where do you live? You can PM me if you want - [email protected]
Cheers

Hi, Shimmrs,
My daughter has been studying at Anchors for the past half year, and she is changing to the new campus this Sept. Are you going to their Parents' Day this Sat and Open Day on Aug 29th? My daughter will be in IN2 am.
