    Cry baby movie sessions?

Back in Oz we have cinemas that offer Cry Baby sessions where you can take your kids and it doesn't matter if they cry because there will be mainly just other parents with kids there. Has anyone heard of such a thing here? We're new to HK, our domestic helper won't start for another month and I'm stuck in an awesome but small seviced apartment in a new city (aie!), looking after my beautiful, well behaved one year ol all by my lonesome while hubby is out at work. I'm also 6 months pregnant so can't spend long hours out of the house discovering this full on city..

Any ideas about cinemas or other ways to spend some time would be appreciated. I know, I know, I could shop but who wants to shop when they are pregnant and how long does shopping stay interesting for anyway? :)

    thanks

sorry to say, there's no such thing in HK, although i think that it would be a huge hit! i know i'd love to take my son, but he can only last for around 40 minutes watching a movie on DVD, so there's no way he'd make it through a whole show in the cinema.

where is your serviced apt? that might help with recommendations for what you can do.

    Hi Carang,
our apartment is in the IFC building.

I guess I'll just have to stick to HBO and dvd's for my movie fix..

    Aussiegal,

Schools are closed this week for CNY break. I assume the early morning and matinee shows will be filled with kids, so you can try taking your LO and see how it goes. We saw Charlotte's Web on Sat, which your LO might enjoy.

I just went to the movies for the first time since my daughter was born! Just before I give birth again...

I'm sorry to hear these sessions don't run in HK! I'm going to email the broadway cinema chain and suggest they hold some in IFC. Anyone else want to join me? If they get enough emails, just maybe...

    Hi Pinemarten,
I'm with you on that one. I'm currently staying in the IFC so it would be perfect.

    Hi There!

Im glad people have interest in going out to the movies with their babes. I saw it on TV and thought it would be such a good idea. I have a 6 month old boy and live in the Tai Koo area in Hong Kong, my apartment building has a movie theater in it with about 12 seats (all massage chairs :) ) and I think its about $500 HK to rent out the whole theater. I would love to get moms and babes together and watch a movie sometime. If anyone is interested let me know.
